Hi! My name is Kelley Magill, and I'm excited to be a part of your health journey. Let me start by sharing my path on becoming a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist and Elo Health Coach.
Sports were always an important part of my life. At the age of 4, I took a gymnastics class, loved it, and spent the next 10 years as a gymnast. In middle school, I transitioned to running and continued into high school. In college, I walked onto a Division 1 Cross Country and Track and Field team. These sports started to kindle a passion for nutrition, so while studying biomedical engineering and mathematics for my undergraduate degree, I decided to pivot and go in a different direction. I wanted to understand nutrition’s role in sports performance, health, wellness, and longevity, which led me to pursue a Masters degree in nutrition at Boston University. Amidst graduate studies, I ran competitively for Boston Athletic Association and completed a few marathons, including the 2019 and 2021 Boston Marathons.
I then completed a 9 month internship and began my career as a Clinical Dietitian in a hospital's inpatient and outpatient settings. I cared for a wide-range of populations: critically ill patients on ventilators and tube feeds, post-op cardiac ICU patients, high risk pregnant women, and patients with multiple chronic illnesses.
Over the years, I personally experimented with a variety of restrictive diet approaches. From vegan to vegetarian to paleo–you name it, I've tried it. It was when I shifted my focus to real, nutrient-dense, whole foods with an emphasis on fueling my body that I saw improvements in sports performance, physical health, and overall well-being.
As my career progressed, I became even more fascinated with nutrition prevention. Even though I worked in a clinical setting, I felt compelled to intervene earlier in people's lives, before chronic illness evolved, with a preventative nutrition, root-cause approach. This was when I discovered Elo.
Here at Elo, our vision is to transform food from the cause of disease to medicine. Every individual is unique; as such, they need a diet, lifestyle, and supplement plan that’s tailored to their specific needs. There is no one-diet-fits-all!
I am now here to help you reach your health and wellness goals, optimize your healthspan, and live life to your full potential. When I'm not working with Elo members, you can find me on a run, hiking a mountain, cooking up a recipe, trying a new hot yoga class, or spending time with friends and family. I'm grateful to be alongside this ride with you!
