What are normal blood sugar levels?

This question is about GLP-1 & Weight Loss

Sarah Achleithner

According to the World Health Organization, normal blood sugar levels are between 70 mg/dL (3.9 mmol/L) and 100 mg/dL (5.6 mmol/L) [

1

].

Other important blood sugar levels to know include:

  • Hypoglycemia: <70 mg/dL (3.9 mmol/L)

  • Elevated blood glucose: between 100 to 125 mg/dL (5.6 to 6.9 mmol/L)

  • Hyperglycemia: >126 mg/dL (7 mmol/L) on two separate tests

If you struggle with hyperglycemia and have been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, talk with your doctor to see if GLP-1 medications (or GLP-1 supplements) may be right for you.

GLP-1 is a naturally-occurring hormone made in the small intestine and plays a role in regulating blood sugar levels, increasing satiety, and slowing stomach emptying - all of which can help with weight loss [

,

3

]. While your body naturally produces GLP-1, you can also get GLP-1 agonists in certain medications, which are designed to regulate blood sugar levels and boost satiety. These medications operate by mimicking the actions of GLP-1, and have been used to treat type 2 diabetes and, in some cases, obesity [

].

While you can be prescribed specific GLP-1 medications, certain supplements (like

Elo Smart Protein

) may also prove beneficial for glucose levels and weight loss.
